South, North Korea trade at its lowest in 8 years


(MENAFN) Trade between South and North Korea reached its lowest level in 8 years in 2013 as their political relations suffer instability, according to Qatar News Agency



Inter-Korean trade was estimated at USD1.15 billion in 2013, or 41.9 percent lower than in 2012 which reached USD1.98 billion



Exports of South Korea to the North fell by 41.1 percent year-on-year to reach USD531.8 million, while imports reached dropped by 42.5 percent to reach USD617.2 million



The 2013 inter-Korean trade volume was the lowest since 2005 which reached USD1.06 billion
