Spain's trade deficit down by half in 2013


(MENAFN) The trade deficit in Spain was cut by nearly a half last year on the back of record breaking export figures, The Peninsula Qatar reported



The country's economy ministry said that the deficit dropped 48.1 percent in 2013 to reach a deficit of USD21.8 billion



The country's export of goods and services hit USD321.7 billion in the year, up 5.2 percent from the year before it



Imports came at USD343.6 billion in 2013, falling 1.3 percent over 2012 as household spending remained limited in the country
