19 Afghan Soldiers Killed in Taliban Attack in Kunar


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Dozens of Afghan national soldiers and Taliban militants were killed or injured following militants attack in eastern Kunar province of Afghanistan. The incident took place Ghaziabad district early Sunday morning, leaving at least 19 Afghan army soldiers dead, Afghan News Agency (Khaama) reported. Provincial governor spokesman, Abdul Musamim, said at least two Afghan national army soldiers were also injured following the incident. Gen. Zahir Azimi, spokesman for the defense ministry of Afghanistan confirming the report, said militants attacked two security check posts in Ghaziabad district early Sunday. He did not disclose further information regarding the exact number of Afghan soldiers casualties, however he said a number of soldiers were killed along with several other militants
