(MENAFN - Qatar News Agency) Economic planning associated with Qatar National Vision 2030 was the primary focus of a special Qatar 2030 Economic Development Roundtable, designed by Qatar Leadership Centre (QLC) for its inaugural Government Leaders Program. This session gave QLC participants the opportunity to examine leading economic indicators with officials of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce and discuss how best to help Qatar in the fulfillment of its economic goals in the coming years. "HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani's vision is that QLC should work together with the ministries and governmental organizations to prepare leaders for Qatar in the coming years," noted HE Sheikh Dr. Abdulla bin Ali Al-Thani, QLC board member and Managing Director. "This special roundtable gave QLC participants a first-hand understanding of Qatar's policies and perspectives," he added. HE Sultan bin Rashid Al Khater, Undersecretary, Ministry of Economy and Commerce, and QLC board member, addressed the QLC participants, discussing the Ministry's role in driving sustainable growth of the economy and in economic development as part of the goals of the Qatar National Vision 2030. Al Khater underscored the importance of knowledge-sharing in economic development: "Qatar Leadership Centre's engagement with the Ministry of Economy and Commerce yields a deeper economic understanding among the participants as they further develop their leadership acumen." The participants reviewed the competitiveness and business climate of Qatar, reflecting on its high standing in international indices such as the World Economic Forum's Global Competitiveness Index. The roundtable culminated in a session dedicated to finding synergies between government and the private sector to ensure Ministry policies and initiatives can achieve their maximum effect. Al Khater stressed that "it is vital for our successful leaders to understand the multifaceted dynamics of Qatar's economy in order to respond to changing circumstances." Qatar Leadership Centre was established by Emiri Decree to help develop the leadership potential of selected Qataris with proven abilities, while also helping accelerate progress toward the goals of 2030 and beyond. Participants in the Government Leaders Program include Qatari professionals, drawn primarily from government ministries and organizations. During their QLC program, participants build their expertise in strategic planning, public finance and policy, while learning from government leaders
