New Audi A3 Sedan launched in Oman

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) With the launch of the A3 Sedan, Audi Oman, represented by Wattayah Motors, the dealer for Audi in Oman, is entering one of the fastest growing market segments in Oman, the premium class of compact sedans.

The dynamic four-door car offers all of the strengths of the A3 model series – with low weight thanks to lightweight design, powerful and highly efficient engines and numerous high-end solutions for infotainment as well as driver assistance systems.

Commenting on the launch of the A3 Sedan, Ahmed Shariefi, general manager of Wattayah Motors, said, ''This is the right car at the right time for Audi. Premium compact sedans are one of the fastest growing segments in Oman due to their compact dimensions, sporty dynamics and attractive pricing; and the A3 Sedan epitomises these characteristics. With Audi's engineering and performance expertise behind it, we strongly believe the A3 Sedan has tremendous potential in the market and expect it to contribute substantially to Audi's sales in the country. It will no doubt be a valued addition to Audi Oman's product portfolio.''

Audi's first notchback model in the premium compact class, the Audi A3 Sedan's sporty character is easily noticeable. It starts with a curb weight of just 1,250 g for the four-door 30 TFSI with S tronic, thanks to Audi's lightweight design mastery. Some 4,460mm in length, the design of the Audi A3 Sedan combines classic notchback styling with the dynamics of a convertible. Audi can optionally fit this new model with all-LED headlights; taillights boasting light-emitting diodes are standard (option in Attraction line).

The roomy interior of this sporty four-door car is refined and straightforward with its individual design elements giving evidence of the attention to detail that Audi devotes to every vehicle. The 425lt luggage compartment can be extended by folding down the rear seat backs.

Audi brings the A3 Sedan to the Middle East with a 30 TFSI and 40 TFSI engine featuring power outputs of 122 hp and 180 hp respectively. Both engines have been overhauled to combine robust power with astonishing fuel efficiency. Both engines are paired with a S tronic dualclutch transmission.

The 40 TFSI is optionally also available with quattro permanent all-wheel drive. As a standard Audi fits the A3 Sedan with Audi drive select (optional in Attraction line) and a sports suspension (dynamic suspension in Attraction line). The S line sports suspension is available as an option. Wheels measure 17'' in diameter (16'' in attraction line). Audi offers its A3 Sedan customers a comprehensive range of infotainment modules; top-of-the-line options include a Bang & Olufsen sound system and MMI navigation plus.

The sleek 7'' screen extends electronically from the instrument panel. The turn/push control is designed as a ‘touchwheel' with MMI touch – its surface is a touch-sensitive pad for inputting letters and numbers. The Audi connect system ideally complements the MMI navigation plus. A3 Sedan passengers can use their mobile devices thanks to a WLAN hotspot integrated within Audi connect. The driver benefits from navigation via Google Earth images. A broad assortment of assistance systems also bolsters the A3 Sedan.

They range from adaptive cruise control to Audi side assist, Audi active lane assist and the park-assist system with surround-view camera to the safety system Audi pre sense. The driver information system with rest recommendation is standard. Individual options such as Audi adaptive light and a panoramic glass sunroof are taken directly from the luxury class.

Audi's top-of-the-line version, the Audi S3 Sedan, with its 2.0 TFSI engine produces 280hp and 380Nm of torque. The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h takes 5.0 seconds with the six-speed S tronic. Speed is electronically capped at 250 km/h. Its fourcylinder turbocharged engine averages just 6.9lt of fuel per 100 km.

Launch Control delivers the engine's power to the road via quattro permanent all-wheel drive with defined tire slip upon driving off. The S sports suspension lowers the body by 25 millimeters. Large brakes are mounted behind the 18-inch wheels. 19-inch wheels are available in conjunction with Audi magnetic ride. Progressive steering is standard for the S3 Sedan.

The exterior and interior design clearly underscores the dynamics of this top-of-the-line model. Standard equipment includes a Bang & Olufsen Sound System, MMI navigation plus with MMI touch, a panoramic sunroof and the central locking system ‘Keyless Entry' among many others.

Upon request, Audi can equip the S3 Sedan with any option for this model line. This new Audi A3 Sedan is available at Audi dealerships across Oman, with prices starting from RO9,950 (for the base A3 Sedan 30 TFSI with 122 hp).
