(MENAFN -Arab News) A local mosque here celebrated the 15th anniversary of its Qur?an School on Wednesday night

Abdulaziz Hanafi, president of the Qur?an Charity Society, sponsored the event at the Abdurrahman bin Aof Mosque

The celebration started with a student, Hamza Almizgagi, reciting from the Qur'an. Abdurrahman Al-Jubairi, director of the school, then delivered a speech

?He who recites the Qur?an and follows its teachings will never be bereft of peace and happiness in this world. Praise be to Allah for helping us achieve our goals,? he said

Al-Jubairi thanked those who supported the school and helped it to become successful

Seven students were honored for memorizing the Holy Qur?an last year. One of them had topped a Qur?an examination conducted by the society for students in Jeddah

The celebration included several presentations on the history of the school, a song on the pioneers of the Holy Qur?an and a speech by Mosaab Eyad, a student, thanking the school for his education

?Our school is blessed with Qur?anic sessions, good management, and qualified teachers and supervisors. There is also constant monitoring of the different aspects of the school and its teaching,? Eyad said

He said the school has 750 students, with 22 classes for boys and eight for girls.

It also offers 63 courses in personality and career development for students and teachers. About 71 students have passed the Qur?an examination since the establishment of the school. It also has a well-equipped playground for student activities and a large hall that hosts some video and other games, he said.
