Kuwait - Ruling revoked

(MENAFN - Arab Times) The Court of Appeals revoked the ruling of the Court of First Instance that sentenced a Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor employee to two years imprisonment with hard labor and immediate execution for falsifying an official document. This led to the acquittal of the employee. Reportedly, the accused was charged with falsifying a work permit issued by the Hawally Labor Department to an expatriate by deleting the data of the concerned person from the computer to make it appear that the department had cancelled the permit. The defendant's lawyer, Attorney Ali Al-Asfoor, attended the session and denied the possibility of his client committing a crime mentioned in Article 257 of the Penal Code. He demanded for the acquittal of his client due to lack of incriminating evidence
