Oman to reduce expat number to 33 percent of population


(MENAFN) The Sultanate of Oman is to reduce the number of expatriates in the country to 33 percent of population, or 200,000 people, Arabian Business reported



Currently, expats in Oman comprise 39 percent of a population of 3.3 million. Expat workers, however, form 90 percent of the workers force in the private sector



Only 244,698 Omanis work in the private sector out of a total of 1,776,583 people



The Sultanate's Minister of Manpower said that last year, a total of 14,059 Omanis entered the private sector
