Tokyo Stocks End Higher Monday


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Tokyo stocks ended moderately higher on Monday, erasing early losses made on Japan's disappointing growth data, as bargain-hunting buying took the upper hand.



The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average ended up 80.08 points, or 0.56%, from Friday at 14,393.11, for the first gain in three trading days, (Kyodo) news agency reporte



The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange finished 8.23 points, or 0.70%, higher at 1,192.0



Major gainers included paper and pulp, utility, and brokerage issues while service, information and communication, and mining shares lost ground.
