(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) The Ukrainian navy frigate Hetman Sagaidachniy, attached to the EU Navfor counter-piracy mission to the region, stopped over in Salalah earlier this month.
The frigate spent six days replenishing supplies and allowing crew members to explore the local culture.
Speaking about the visit, Rear Admiral Andrii Tarasov, commander of the Ukrainian contingent, said that the visit was a good chanc to maintain moral on board the frigate. ''The visit was a good opportunity to not only replenish the ship, but to also allow my sailors to celebrate national events and birthdays in accordance with Ukrainian customs and traditions.''
Essential maintenence work was carried out on the frigate while it was docked. Following the port visit, Hetman Sagaidachniy returned to her counter-piracy patrols in the Gulf of Aden.
