(MENAFNEditorial) Al Hilal Bank has today (Sunday, February 16, 2014) renewed its sponsorship contract with the UAE Football Association (UAEFA) in a signing ceremony covered by the press at the UAEFA headquarters in Dubai. This marks the sixth consecutive year that Al Hilal is sponsoring the UAEFA President's Cup. The bank is also a supporter of the National and Olympic Football Teams
The signing ceremony was attended by Maryam Yousuf Ahli, Al Hilal Bank's Vice President of Public Relations and Mass Communication, and H.E. Yousuf Mohammed Abdullah, General Secretary of UAEFA. A number of press representatives from the audio-visual and electronic media were present as well
Al Hilal Bank sponsors the President's Cup because of the importance of this competition among the country's football fans who enthusiastically cheer on their own teams competing for the tournament title. The bank is also supportive of national teams that have made impressive achievements over the years in raising the UAE's flag high in the regional and international sporting arenas
"Al Hilal Bank is very passionate about sports, especially football which is the region's favorite athletic game. We also want to help raise more awareness about the importance of engaging in an active lifestyle to attain well-being, especially among youths. Our sponsorship of the President's Cup and our national teams allows us to promote both and make a difference in improving the quality of life of the communities we serve and UAE society at large," said Ahli
For his part, H.E. Abdullah said that the Football Association is proud of its partners, especially Al Hilal Bank which has played an active role in the development of UAE football. He noted that Al Hilal is a genuine part of all the association's recent achievements. H.E. Abdullah also praised Al Hilal Bank's support for sports as this has a positive impact on society in general and sports in particular. "We are confident that the continuation of Al Hilal Bank's sponsorship of the President's Cup will help develop this competition further, and that its support for the National and Olympic teams will bear good fruit as well," added H.E. Abdullah.
H.E. Abdullah repeated his thanks to the management of Al Hilal Bank for their support, wishing them further success.
