Japan to Deepen Ties with US at All Levels

(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida told a group of US House of Representatives members Monday that the Japan-US alliance is the cornerstone of Japan's diplomacy, and that Tokyo wants to deepen bilateral relations at all levels, with particular emphasis on parliamentary diplomacy, Japan's (Kyodo) News reported.

"Japan and the United States must deepen bilateral ties at all sorts of levels, and I believe parliamentary diplomacy has significant meaning," Kishida said in a meeting with the group led by Ed Royce, chairman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, part of which was open to the press.

Kishida said Japan will steadily make preparations for a planned visit to Japan by U.S. President Barack Obama in April
