(MENAFN - Arab Times) A specialized committee in the Ministers Council is currently conducting a comprehensive study on the possibility of unifying the financial benefits granted to employees in the government and non-government agencies in a bid to encourage Kuwaitis to work in the private sector, reports Al- Anba daily quoting sources.
Sources explained the abovementioned step is part of efforts to address the unemployment problem in the country.
In a related development, sources said the Ministry of Finance has asked other government agencies to focus on finding alternative sources of income. They added the ministry also stressed the need to impose fees on the usage of State properties as a way to increase national revenues rather than depending totally on oil as source of income.
Meanwhile, sources confirmed the recent developments in the global community have prompted the ministry to specify the maximum price for oil. Sources said this is a precautionary measure in case the price of oil drops remarkably; thereby, fixing the price at 65 per barrel for the overall budget.
