Kuwait- 30 kilos gold, precious stones stolen in jewelry shop heist


(MENAFN- Arab Times) An unidentified person raided a jewelry shop in Jahra area and made away with 30kg gold and other precious stones valued at KD 300,000. According to the daily, an Iranian caretaker of the store notified the Operations Room about the theft and said the thief stole only jewelry without touching money. High ranking officers arrived at the scene and lifted fingerprints to trail the suspect (s). The complainant noted there is no surveillance camera at the complex because it was sold to a new owner who dismissed previous security who guarded the place, noting the new security guards usually lock up the complex in the evening and leave. Sources said the suspect (s) broke into the complex and forced entry to the jewelry shop to steal the items. A case has since been registered for investigation

Cell phones stolen: A young Kuwaiti man has filed a complaint with the Andalus Police Station accusing an unidentified person of stealing five expensive cell phones and peripherals from his shop located behind a wellknown hotel in Al-Riqqa, reports Al- Watan Arabic daily. Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the culprit



Drugs found on expat: Customs officers at the Kuwait International Airport recently foiled an attempt by an Arab man to smuggle 45 narcotic pills and a wireless set into the country, reports Al- Watan Arabic daily. The man was reportedly carrying the pills and the wireless set in his hand baggage. Meanwhile, police are looking for an unidentified person for stealing the car belonging to a first lieutenant, reports Al- Rai daily. The daily added, the officer kept the engine running and stepped into a grocery store in Farwaniya. When he came out he did not find the car. The police officer lodged a complaint telling the car contained documents related to the ministry and a book for traffic violations. And, police are looking for an unidentified burglar broke into the home of a Kuwaiti man and stole money and jewelry and escaped in his car, reports Al- Shahed daily. Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the culprit
