Oman grabs two bronze medals at Asian meet


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Oman's Ahmed Mubarak al Saadi opened his country's medals tally after winning bronze in the men's 400m event at the sixth Asian Indoor Athletics Championships in Hangzhou, China on Saturday.


Saadi clocked a time of 48.51 seconds, behind Iran's Mahdi Zamani (48.25s), who claimed gold, and Kazhakstan's Sergey Zaikov (48.37s), who took silver.


On Sunday, the sultanate's 4x400m relay team - comprising Obaid al Quraini, Ahmed al Marjabi, Othman al Busaidi and Saadi - finished third to take bronze in the team event.


China captured gold and Kazhakstan took silver.
