Oil refineries in Kuwait still at shutdown risk

(MENAFN) Oil refineries in Kuwait risk additional shutdowns due to a poor power supply system in the country, Arabian Business reported

The reason behind the power failure that caused three of the country's oil refineries with a total capacity of around 930,000 barrels per day to go offline last month is still unclear

The incident however points out that the fault is in the state electricity supplier, and not electrical faults in the refineries themselves

Kuwait refines around a third of its crude production of 3 million barrels per day (bpd) and exports around 660,000 bpd of those petroleum products
