Construction output in UK up 1.3 percent

(MENAFN) Construction output in Britain grew last year on the back of a robust residential house market, Xinhua reported

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) said that construction output during the year surged 1.3 percent, after registering a plunge of 7.9 percent in 2012

The expansion, however, is still slower than a growth of 2.3 percent and 8.3 percent logged in 2011 and 2010, respectively

The construction sector generated an annual output volume of USD185 billion in the year, up 3.9 percent from the economic downturn volume in 2009
