(MENAFN - Arab Times) More than half a million of students will start their classes for the second term of the academic year 2013/2014 on Sunday after the two-week Spring break, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily quoting sources. Sources disclosed a total of 362,933 students in 803 governmental schools and 200,000 in some private schools are expected to attend their classes on the abovementioned day

Sources confirmed the Ministry of Education officials held a series of meetings to remove obstacles that the academic staff and students might face in this term.

Meanwhile, sources revealed the staff for the 12th Grade will also start reviewing the exam papers of the students to change the marks if necessary as per the instructions of the assistant undersecretary for Public Education Affairs. In another development, sources confirmed the ministry has asked the schools' administrations to provide free meals to needy students. Sources said the ministry has instructed the administrations to prepare the meals in secured plastic boxes which should be ready in the canteens one hour before the break

The administrations must also check the quality of these meals and ensure the cleanliness of the canteens at all times to protect the health of students. Inspectors from the Kuwait Municipality will check the schools regularly to guarantee strict compliance with the safety regulations, sources added
