(MENAFN - Arab Times) Egypt's Ambassador to Kuwait Abdul Kareem Suleiman disclosed that the Egyptian embassy in collaboration with the Ministries of Interior and Foreign Affairs have deported 1,700 Egyptian workers who entered the country on forged visas, reports Al-Rai daily.

He said the embassy is trying to coordinate with the concerned authorities in Kuwait to end the crisis of thousands of Egyptians who entered on forged visas. He added the embassy has opened the door for those who wish to return to their country to register their data with the Embassy to facilitate routine procedures, adding the embassy will check with the Kuwaiti concerned authorities on their behalf to conclude their files.

As regards the fear of their fingerprints being taken during deportation to prevent them from returning to the country again, the ambassador stressed "the decision is in the hands of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior.
