Musharraf summoned in murder case


(MENAFN-Khaleej Times) An Islamabad court has summoned former president General Pervez Musharraf on March 1 in the murder case of firebrand cleric Abdul Rasheed Ghazi, who died during the Lal Masjid operation in 2007

An additional sessions judge heard the Abdul Rasheed Ghazi murder case on Saturday. During the proceedings, the lawyer representing Musharraf submitted the request to grant exemption to the accused from today’s hearing.


The court admitted the plea and provided exemption to Musharraf from Saturday’s hearing but ordered him to appear personally on March 1.


The court also instructed the police to submit a new challan of the Abdul Rasheed Ghazi murder case before the next hearing.
