(MENAFN -Arab News) Carlos Sports Wear flirted with a second perfect 28 but had to settle for 27 and the Team of the Week award during the sixth session in the OFBC 4 1 Friday Afternoon League Season 3 at the Ice Land Bowling Center here.
Carlos shut out D’ Luf’s Strikers 20-0 but was denied the coveted 28 by league leader RTJ Transient House which garnered the top rank points of 8 after shooting the top total pinfalls of 2,196 in an 8-2 victory over Archie & Co.
Though it missed the perfect mark the day still belonged to Carlos, who gathered 2,150 for second best rank points of 7, when Shirley Sagmit won the ladies Bowler of the Week plum to complete a Carlos double.
Defending champion Red Dragon, another winner by shutout over Pairs & Spares, ended up tied with RTJ on 26 points while the Youngsters Revival came up with 20 points.
Youngsters decisively beat Replacement 2 16-4 on total pinfalls of 2,051 and 2,036.
The men’s Bowler of the Week award fell in the lap of OFBC Commissioner Joel Nidoy of RTJ who joined Jhune Estefano as the only bowlers thus far with at least two individual awards.
Sagmit shot 555 at the head of the Carlos charge that also featured 537 from Louie Pacia, 139-160 from captain Vov Stone, 178-178 from Gino Vallejos and 159-169 from Jameel Gabrera.
Nidoy fired the high series of 585 at the vanguard of the RTJ with Hadi Pacheco on 535, skipper Rudy “RJ” Jamon on 167-154, Malou Nidoy on 155-163 and Kristhea Mae Busico on 117-112.
In a first sign they are beginning to turn things around after a so-so league start, the Red Dragons drew a solid 585 from Arman Gamboa. Bash Langa came through with 176-137, Cesar Pagtalunan managed 167-151 and Thong Langa 122-161. Aisah Silabay, the lone female bowler to play on the day, made 336.
Youngsters received full games of 527 from Jojo Esperanzate and 475 from veteran Vangie Lim as well as two games each of 150-155 from team captain Toto Lim, 147-178 from Susan Patayan and 166-125 from Carms Lim.
