Heritage village wows Janadriyah visitors
(MENAFN-Arab News) Jazan's heritage village at the Janadriyah festival here has put on colorful displays of its local produce, cultural practices and the region's mountain and marine life
The displays include aromatic plants, local coffee, honey, sesame oil, and a special corner for beans, corn, millet and sesame seeds, said Ibrahim bin Mohammed Al-Hazmi, head of the Jazan delegation
Al-Hazmi said there would also be demonstrations of popular games specific to the region and performances from poets over the course of the 17-day festival
He said Jazan Gov. Prince Mohammed bin Nasser supported the organizing team during its preparation for the festival. The team included the University of Jazan, the local iron and steel factory, the secretariat of the region, and various government departments, he said
Dahham Al-Enezi, a visitor, said he enjoyed the Jazan village because it reminded him of the time he spent in Jazan years ago. He said the festival appears to have drawn many visitors from inside the Kingdom and Gulf countries.
