Japan's wholesale prices up 2.4 percent in Jan.


(MENAFN) Wholesale prices in Japan increased 2.4 percent last month mainly as a result of higher import costs amid the yen's depreciation, Xinhua reported



The Bank of japan said that the index of corporate goods prices hit 102.9 versus the 2010 base of 100



Prices of oil and coal products went up 10.7 percent in Japan last month, while gas and water prices surged 11 percent in the month



The central bank said that prices of Lumber and wood products increased 14.4 percent, showing an increase in housing demand in Japan and the US
