Iraqi Deputy Minister Escapes Assassination Attempt

(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Iraq's Deputy Minister of Displacement and Migration, Salam al-Khafaji escaped an assassination attempt on Wednesday when a roadside bomb went off between Balad and Samarra, north of Baghdad. "The bomb exploded when the convoy of the Deputy Minister of Displacement and Migration Salam al-Khafaji passed on the road connects Balad and Samarra," a security source told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA). He added, "The explosion did not result in any casualties or damage."
