Oman's ministers meet State Council, Majlis A'Shura members


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Following His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said's keenness to ensure constructive cooperation among state bodies for economic and social development, a meeting of members of the Council of Ministers, State Council and Majlis A'Shura was held on Wednesday. 


The meeting exchanged views on reaching a common goal and enhancing implementation of development plans and programmes.


H H Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, welcomed members of both councils and affirmed that the government attaches great importance to visions and proposals on ongoing and future services and public utilities.


He said that the Council of Ministers puts these issues on top of its agenda and delegates concerned agencies with the task of designing the development plans in such a way that they meet all demands. 


Sayyid Fahd pointed out that His Majesty the Sultan's directives to the government focus mainly on providing citizens with optimum care and ensuring that they receive the best services. This will make every Omani feel proud of the progress and prosperity made by the country and become an active player in the development march so that Oman can move ahead with determination, he said.


Members of the State Council and Majlis A'Shura met with the ministers and discussed plans and programmes of their ministries across the sultanate. Dr Yahya bin Mahfoudh al Manthri, chairman of the State Council, and Sheikh Khalid bin Hilal bin Nasser al Mawali, chairman of the Majlis A'Shura, said that the outcomes of the meetings were positive and will further enhance cooperation among the state bodies. 


A luncheon was hosted on the occasion for members of the Council of Ministers and the State Council of Oman.
