(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) has lined up some fun sports activities for its staff and their families on the occasion of National Sport Day. QTA invited it employees to celebrate this day of activity and fun with a series of interactive teambuilding activities and competitions. Activities featured team competitions in different games including Volleyball, Beach Soccer, Water Gun, Canoeing, Relay Race, Sumo, Target shooting, and Tug of War along with various kids' games activities. Special T-shirts with QTA and National Sport Day logos, produced especially for the event were distributed to all participants at the event where participants got divided into teams. The day's activities came to a close with the prize-giving ceremony for the winners of the various competitions. Commenting on the event, HE Chairman of QTA Issa bin Mohamad Al Mohannadi said: "National Sport Day is a significant event in Qatar's calendar; it highlights the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle in our society. QTA organized this event as part of its efforts to encourage sport among employees and build team spirit. We believe a healthy and dynamic population will play an important role in developing an active society." He added: "I would like to thank all our valuable employees and their families for their active participation and making this event a success." The National Sport Day was launched in 2012 with the objective of increasing awareness throughout the country about the importance of sport and physical activity and helping to promote the development of a sporting culture throughout society in general. Through brining together individuals from all walks of life in an active and fun filled atmosphere, Sport Day widens the scope of community participation in sport and physical activities and builds communal harmony and well-being thus contributing to the country's overall growth and developmen
