A good doctor or a healthcare professional needs a holistic approach, and Gulf Medical University (GMU) is doing a great job in imbibing and imparting quality teaching that will mould a student into a complete professional, said T.P. Seetharam, Indian Ambassador to the UAE.

E told the management that he would recommend to India’s Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to exempt Indian students graduating from GMU from taking the screening test conducted by the Medical Council of India which is required to practise in India.


The ambassador was speaking during a visit to GMU on Tuesday. He was received by founder president Thumbay Moideen and university officials and was taken on a tour of the facility.


The ambassador saw the Centre for Advanced Biomedical Research and Innovation and the Centre for Advanced Simulation in Healthcare. He commended the “high quality” research work and training programmes being undertaken at the university. “I am pleased to know that students from over 70 countries study at the university, which reflects (the) global standards of education and training.”


The world, he said, is moving from specialisation to super specialisation. “You can look forward to brilliant careers and serve the community wherever you work.“I am highly impressed with the university and its infrastructure. It is on par with some of the reputed institutions in the world,” he added.
