UAE- We have developed human resources: Mohammed

(MENAFN-Khaleej Times) My achievements would not be possible without my taskforce, says Vice-President

Building construction is much easier than building human resources, said His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, during a meeting with foreign journalists attending the Government Summit on Wednesday.

"We in the UAE have succeeded in building and developing human resources. We developed people’s talents and potential through training and work, besides clarity of vision and directives.

“I am a leader, but my achievements would not be possible without a task force, which works with one spirit and common objectives. I lay down my vision and fix it, and the task-force carries it. We then succeed in making the people happy in our beloved country,” Shaikh Mohammed said.

Security and safety, he said, constitute a solid base for achieving stability, development and national accomplishments.

Needless to say, the role of the founding fathers is instrumental in laying down a solid base.”

Shaikh Mohammed and the attendees discussed a number of topics — development and progress in the UAE, women empowerment, and political issues and the transformations in the Arab world. They also spoke about the achievements of the UAE in general and Dubai in particular, including the completion of Al Maktoum International Airport and expansion at Dubai International Airport.

Saying the global recession did not affect Dubai or him, Shaikh Mohammed said when journalists asked him about it, he would say, “You judge matters from your analysis, but for me, I judge it from my own experiences, expertise, and my vision of the future.”

“All were wondering how the global recession did not affect me; it did not even affect a single hair of mine! I was confident of overstepping the meltdown, especially in Dubai.”

“I insisted on facing the world challenges with persistence, determination and strong faith, and our abilities.”

The meeting, which was held at Mina Al Salam Hotel, was attended by Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai; Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai; and Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawai, Minister of Cabinet Affairs. — Wam
