(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) The United States Forces in Afghanistan (USFOR-A) condemned the ordered release of 65 detainees from Afghan National Detention Facility in northern Parwan province of Afghanistan. The United States Forces in Afghanistan following a statement, said that USFOR-A has learned that 65 dangerous individuals from a group of 88 detainees under dispute have been ordered released from Bagram detention facility, the Afghan news agency (Khama Press) reported. The statement further added, "The US has, on several occasions, provided extensive information and evidence on each of the 88 detainees to the Afghan Review Board, the Afghan National Directorate of Security and the Attorney General's office." USFOR-A in its statement also added that the release of prisoners marked dangerous, violates agreements between the U.S. and Afghanistan. "We have made clear our judgment that these individuals should be prosecuted under Afghan law. We requested that the cases be carefully reviewed. But the evidence against them was never seriously considered, including by the Attorney General, given the short time since the decision was made to transfer these cases to the Afghan legal system," the statement added. This comes as the Attorney General officials announced that 65 Bagram prisoners will be released as per the instructions of the Attorney General Office of Afghanistan. A spokesman for the Attorney General Office, Basir Azizi, confirmed that release order for the freedom of 65 prisoners from the Bagram detention facility has been issued. He did not say when the prisoners are going to be released from the detention facility. In the meantime, USFOR-A said that the detainees who are due to be released, are involved behind roadside bombings which is widely considered as the primary casue of civilian casualties in Afghanistan. "The release of these detainees is a major step backward for the rule of law in Afghanistan. Some previously-released individuals have already returned to the fight, and this subsequent release will allow dangerous insurgents back into Afghan cities and villages," USFOR-A said in its statement
