Tourist spending in Lebanon up 4 percent


(MENAFN) Total spending by tourists in Lebanon surged four percent in the fourth quarter of 2013 versus the year before it, Saudi Gazette reported



UAE travelers to Lebanon comprised 15 percent of the total tourist expenditure in the period, according to Global Blue.



Saudi Arabia came second with 12 percent, followed by Egypt and Syria with eight percent each, Kuwait with seven percent and Jordan with six percent.



Hotel industry figures also reveal a boost in tourism in Lebanon, with Beirut reporting the largest increase in occupancy rates in November growing by 22.3 percent to 43.2 percent
