(MENAFN -Arab News) The Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) announced the launching of the Jeddah Week of Entrepreneurs under the slogan “Look for Opportunities” on the sidelines of the Youth Business Exhibition starting from Feb. 17.JCCI Vice President Ziyad bin Bassam Al-Bassam said it was decided to organize the Jeddah Week of Entrepreneurs with activities related to business to promote the interest of youth in business and related jobs on the sidelines of the 6th Youth Business Exhibition with the cooperation of the Jeddah Youth Business Committee. The Jeddah Week of Entrepreneurs as part of the 4-day 6th Youth Business Exhibition will create opportunities for major national companies for investment, he said. The Jeddah Week of Entrepreneurs will be held with 30 different activities from Feb. 17 to 24 alongside the Youth Business Exhibition in the form of workshops, training courses, lectures, meetings, seminars, programs at schools, universities and malls, and success stories of the pioneers.There will also be a Pioneer of the Year Business award. In the presence of JCCI’s Secretary General Adnan Mandoura, Deputy Secretary Hassan bin Ibrahim Dahlan, the organizing committee, staff, the executive committees, representatives of major companies and others, Bassam said the whole week would offer huge investment opportunities, and creative ideas to the business pioneers and entrepreneurs.Bassam said the JCCI focused on providing assistance to young men and women who are seeking opportunities in the business sector. He added that the event wou also be witness Pioneer of the Year Business Award that JCCI will launch with the cooperation of Ernst & Young Global. “The award’s aim is to honor the creativity of individuals, institutions, and encourage the growth of businesses where companies from more than 140 cities and 50 countries will participate,” he said.Mandoura said the aim of the week of entrepreneurs was to contribute to the empowerment of young businessmen and women, so they could introduce their products and services in a creative way in the market, and urged various stakeholders to contribute to overcome the challenges they were facing.“The new generation needs education and training to create business leaders so they can contribute to providing jobs for other young jobseekers and provide funding opportunities for entrepreneurs and support the development of small and medium enterprises in the Kingdom,” he said.He added that higher secondary schools and universities will be involved in the event along with companies and institutions who would offer job opportunities.The week-long activities will kick off with the Youth Business Exhibition and conferences at the Jeddah Center for Forums and Exhibitions. Lectures, seminars, training courses, success stories of businessmen and workshops at the JCCI will form part of the week. Field visits to the factories that produce goods for export will also be arranged.Fawaz Mohammed Al-Khayat, director of the 6th Youth Business Exhibition, said that different ministries will participate in the event as speakers, participants or visitors.
