(MENAFN -Arab News) Nesma Holding recently signed a contract with King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) for an industrial land plot in KAEC Industrial Valley-phase 2, where Nesma will establish a regional logistics center in cooperation with DHL International. Nesma is considered one of the biggest providers of logistic services in the Gulf, handling four million containers a year.The contract was signed by Fahd Al-Rasheed, MD & CEO of KAEC, and Faisal Al-Turki, chairman and VP of Nesma Holding. Welcoming Nesma Holding to the community of leading local and international companies that have made KAEC and the Industrial Valley the center of their regional operations, Al-Rasheed said: “Nesma Holding is one of the leaders of the real estate management and development industry and we are delighted that the company has chosen to invest in a logistic services center at KAEC as part of its diversification strategy.”“Logistics are among the main sectors that we have targeted for KAEC since logistic services provide essential support for almost all of the businesses operating in the city and the Industrial Valley,” he added. Al-Rasheed added: “KAEC is moving forward at fast pace through a wide range of commercial and industrial enterprises that will ensure continuity and prosperity for generations to come.” Speaking on behalf of Nesma Holding, Faisal Al-Turki expressed his confidence and trust in KAEC, saying: “We decided to invest in establishing our regional logistics center in KAEC due to the excellence of the fully integrated infrastructure, the world-class residential accommodation and support facilities, and the strategic advantages of the unparalleled transportation facilities that include King Abdullah Port, the Haramain Railway and the state-of-the-art road network, all of which give fast and easy connection to customers throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and across the region.”
