Building sector in Ireland grows for fifth month


(MENAFN) Ireland's building sector grew in January for the fifth month running, according to the purchasing managers index (PMI), Xinhua reported



The Ulster Bank index came at 56.4 in January, decreasing from 58.3 in the month before it, but still indicating growth



A reading above 50 signals growth in the seector, while a reading below 50 signals contraction



Ulster Bank chief economist said: "The headline index did pull back a little from its end-2013 levels in January but the PMI remains comfortably in expansion territory, as it recorded its fifth consecutive above-50 reading.
