Hogg, Hodge in Australia's World T20 squad

(MENAFN - Kora) (MENAFN - Kora) Selectors have opted for experience with the short-term aim of winning the title for the first time by choosing Hogg, 43, and Hodge, 39, along with the wicket-keeper Brad Haddin

Aaron Finch and David Warner will be used as the strike weapons while Cameron White, George Bailey and Hodge provide a depth of experience

Daniel Christian, Shane Watson and James Faulkner are the main all-rounders, while White and Glenn Maxwell are also versatile with bat and ball.

Western Australians Mitchell Johnson and Nathan Coulter-Nile are the spearheads and left-armer Mitchell Starc offers variety

With spin, it is the old combined with the new, with Perth Scorchers left-armer Hogg and 20-year-old Victorian rookie leg-spinner James Muirhead the frontline tweakers

Haddin was the surprise selection, and his selection is a major blow for Victorian Matthew Wade whose international career is fast slipping away

Queenslander and Hobart Hurricanes leggie Cameron Boyce has to be unluckiest player to miss the squad

Muirhead played for Australia against England, but Boyce was brilliant in the Big Bash League

Another unlucky not to be on the plane to Bangladesh is Big Bash player of the tournament Ben Dunk

Dunk scored 395 runs in the tournament opening the batting for the Hurricanes and is a handy wicket-keeper and could have taken the gloves if needed

There was no room for Hobart spinner Xavier Doherty. Shaun Marsh was also overlooked, as was batsman Chris Lynn, who performed well in his initial T20 internationals over the past month

Australia: George Bailey (c), Daniel Christian, Nathan Coulter-Nile, James Faulkner, Aaron Finch, Brad Haddin, Brad Hodge, Brad Hogg, Glenn Maxwell, James Muirhead, Mitchell Johnson, Mitchell Starc, David Warner, Shane Watson, Cameron Whit
