Rockets win sixth straight, Spurs beaten

Dwight Howard scored 18 points and hauled down 15 rebounds for the Rockets, while Chandler Parsons (20 points) top-scored for Houston



James Harden (19 points), and Patrick Beverley and Terrence Jones (both 14), were also key contributors to Houston's victory, as the Rockets powered past Minnesota with a 25-11 last quarter



The Rockets sit second in the Western Conference's Southwest Division, two wins adrift of leaders the San Antonio Spurs, who lost 109-100 at the Detroit Pistons



After a tight opening quarter in Detroit, the Pistons jumped 19 points clear with a term to play but had to hold on desperately as the Spurs scored 28 to 17 in the final stanza



Brandon Jennings (21 points) and Rodney Stuckey (20) led the way for the Pistons, while Marco Belinelli (20) top-scored for San Antonio



Detroit moved to a 22-29 record in the Eastern Conference's Central Division, where they sit third behind the Indiana Pacers and the Chicago Bulls



The Pacers remain the best team in the East after an impressive 119-80 demolition of the Denver Nuggets with David West leading Indiana with 25 points



Indiana sit top of the Eastern Conference standings with a 40-11 record, four wins clear of the Miami Heat



In other NBA results, the Boston Celtics cruised past the Milwaukee Bucks 102-86, the Toronto Raptors defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 108-101 and the Golden State Warriors smashed the Philadelphia 76ers 123-80
