(MENAFN - Arab Times) Ali Abdulwahab Al Mutawa Commercial Co. (AAW) announced this year's winners of "The North Face Challenge," one of Kuwait's toughest multidiscipline athletic competitions that took place in the middle of Al-Mutla'a desert located north of the country. Taiba Al-Nouri, Emmanuel Galbourding, Dhari Al Mousherji and Ali AlRukhayes each snagged gold for the Female, Male and team categories respectively, after they endured a four-hour athletic challenge which included 14 kilometers of trail running, 24 kilometers of mountain biking, and various strength obstacles like climbing a truck orcarrying 5kg sand bags



Emmanuel Galbourding, one of the first place winners said: "It's a completely bittersweet experience. The entire Challenge was one of the toughest I had to endure, but once I crossed that finish line, I was so proud of my accomplishment. There's nothing like a physical outdoor challenge to make me stronger, and I thank The North Face and AAW for providing me with this opportunity." AAW developed the Challenge in 2013 under, The North Face, an American brand and the largest retail outdoor apparel and gear that AAW distributes for in Kuwait, to encourage outdoor enthusiasts and athletes. This year, close to 70 athletes from over ten countries participated in the Challenge



AAW General Manager of Outdoors Apparel and Gear and The North Face Brand Manager in Kuwait, Ali F. Al Mutawa said: "We started The North Face Challenge in Kuwait to support athletes who are always on the look-out to face new challenges.
