(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Qatar 2015 Organizing Committee under the leadership of HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani is feverishly working to add another milestone date to the preparation road to the 24th Men's Handball World Championship which will be staged from January 17 until February 1, 2015 in four venues in Doha.
Tuesday 11/02/2014 is going to be one of the most significant days on the course for this great event, with the presentation of the official mascot of the Championship and the commencing of the countdown for handball's flagship and most prestigious competition; two memorable events that coincide with the National Sport Day celebrations in Qata
The festivities will begin in the morning with the official mascot presentation in Corniche, near Orry with HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani leading the Qatar 2015 Organizing Committee delegation in both session
The mascot launch will be a dazzling attraction, teeming with sound and visual effects, with young Qatari Handball players participating. The ceremony will conclude with the tour to the nearby Handball Fanzon
During the evening session the President of the Qatar 2015 Organizing Committee, HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, along with the President of the International Handball Federation Dr. Hassan Moustafa will signal the beginning of the countdown in Corniche, in an event that will be full of surprise
The Director General of the Men's Handball World Championship 2015, Dr. Thani Abdulrahman Al Kuwari said ahead of this important milestone: "Attendees will experience a glittering spectacle, one that will be remembered and will surely raise the eagerness for the first ever team sport Senior World Championship in Doha.
"Following Qatar's triumph at the recent Asian Championship, the popularity of the sport has been further boosted and handball fans are looking forward to seeing our players competing against the world's best national team
"We may be still less than twelve months away from the throw-off of the opening match, but we have already started feeling the 24th Men's Handball World Championship vibration." As it was earlier announced a special Fanzone has been created, with handball related games and kids' entertainment activities, while toys and giveaways will be distributed to all those who long to attend handball's crown event
