Gulf Air to restart flights to Tehran

(MENAFN) The national carrier of Bahrain announced that it plans to resume flights to Tehran next month, Arabian Business reported

Gulf Air said that it will restart with four weekly flights to the Iranian capital starting March 3. The carrier had restarted flights to Mashhad in Iran earlier in December

The new flights are part of Gulf Air's restructuring program launched last year as it suffered from rising fuel costs, political instability in Bahrain and increased competition from other carriers in the region

Relations between the two companies are strained by Bahrain's accusations of Iranian middling in the unrests in the Gulf nation
