FDI in Philippines up 36.6 percent


(MENAFN) Philippine foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows surged to USD3.6 billion, up 36.6 percent, during the first 11 months of 2013, Xinhua reported



FDI inflows came at USD286 million in November alone, increasing 54.9 percent from the corresponding month a year ago



The Philippine central bank said: "FDI inflows remained robust on the back of sustained investor confidence in the growth prospects of the economy.



The majority of the foreign investments during the period came from Mexico, Japan, the United States, British Virgin Islands and Singapore
