Toyota to end manufacturing in Australia by 2017


(MENAFN) Toyota Australia has announced that it plans to stop production in the country by 2017, Xinhua reported



Toyota Australia President and CEO said: "This is devastating news for all of our employees who have dedicated their lives to the company during the past 50 years.



Around 2,500 workers are expected to lose their jobs from the decision while additional people may lose their corporate jobs after a review of the company's operations



The Japanese carmakers' announcement came following Ford and Holden's decision to stop manufacturing in the country, ending the car manufacturing industry in Australia by 2017
