(MENAFN - Kora) An investigation into the duo's behaviour is underway after the two were out late at an Auckland bar ahead of the first Test, which New Zealand won by 40 runs at Eden Park on Sunday

Bracewell (foot) was unlikely to feature in the second Test starting Friday anyway, while Ryder was a back-up for Ross Taylor, whose wife is due to give birth to their second child

But New Zealand coach Mike Hesson has made it clear the pair will be left on the sidelines for the match in Wellington

"We'll be naming our second Test side tomorrow or maybe later on today and neither Jesse Ryder nor Doug Bracewell will be available for selection," coach Mike Hesson said on Monday

Hesson refused to say too much regarding the duo until the investigation was complete but believes more professional preparation is needed

"We need to make sure all our players prepare themselves accordingly for Test cricket and at the moment we don't have confidence that that's the case," he said

"We have faith in our players that they make good decisions around their preparation. We're dealing with grown men, so if a player was to have a beer with their meal before a game we don't have an issue with that at all

"These are grown men who can make decisions. There's a bit difference between that and what occurred the night before the Test.

New Zealand are considering an all-pace attack for the second Test against India at Basin Reserve in Wellington

Trent Boult (match figures of 10-80), Tim Southee (5-82), Corey Anderson (3-49) and Neil Wagner (2-104) did all the damage in New Zealand's win over the West Indies at the venue in December last year

"It generally holds that pace throughout the Test match and it certainly did against the West Indies, albeit that it was only three days," Hesson said

"I think the overcast nature assisted the ball swinging in Wellington and let's hope we get something similar over the next week.
