Pakistan to receive USD550 m loan from IMF


(MENAFN) Pakistan is expecting a USD550 million loan from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) later in the current year to help improve its economy, according to Arab News



The IMF's mission chief to Islamabad said: "The IMF mission...is encouraged by the overall progress made in pushing ahead with policies to strengthen macroeconomic stability and reviving economic growth.



The announcement was revealed by the chief after they held discussions in Dubai for security reasons



Franks said: "The authorities" reform program remains broadly on track with the government meeting all of the quantitative performance criteria by end-December 2013.
