(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) A press release said that following the inspections, three health institutions in Dakhliyah were temporarily shut and licences of 187 establishments revoked for non-completion of licensing procedures.


The violations included failure to renew licences, lack of hygiene, use of outdated medical equipment, lack of female nurses, unlicensed drugs and issuing false medical certificates for leaves. The comittee also imposed a fine of RO4,000 on the violating establishments. A surgeon has also been suspended for a medical error.


The release said that the  monthly review meeting was held at the premises of the Directorate General for Private Health Establishments in Al Khuwayr under the chairmanship of Saif bin Mohammed al Nabhani, advisor to the ministry and Director General of Private Health Establishments.
