(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) To honour its volunteer efforts and community leadership, Knowledge Oman (KO) has awarded its members with the annual Most Valuable Member (MVM) award for their notable achievements in the past year.


Almaatasam al Gheilani, Tamima al Busaidi, Babysam Samuels, and Sajan Nair were each awarded the MVM prize with trophies. As a leading knowledge based community platform in the country, Knowledge Oman is committed to encouraging community talent and volunteer achievements. Khalfan al Mahrazy and Rym Aoudia from the project management also attended the ceremony.


''We welcome multinational community talent at Knowledge Oman and are honoured to award our leading members as a way to celebrate their achievements and encourage others to follow their footsteps. Knowledge Oman is based on volunteer work and realising the mission of a knowledge society, which has in turn attracted a diverse team leading various initiatives and effectively contributing in the community,'' said Tariq Hilal al Barwani, president and founder of KnowledgeOman. com. The MVM awardees each contributed to the mission of a knowledge society.


Almaatasam al Ghailani helped lead forward the technological support for the community initiatives, Tamima actively worked in the Knowledge Ambassadors initiative linking speakers with knowledge sharing opportunities, Samuel engaged in the branding strategy and partnership affiliations, and Nair contributed to the organisational development and talent support at Knowledge Oman. The MVM winners through their different roles and interests represent community building and difference making.


Established in 2008, Knowledge Oman has managed to bring together a diverse team of local and expatriate male and female living in Oman under one roof to support the vision of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said of creating a knowledge-based society. Knowledge Oman nurtures community talent and welcomes a multinational team, connecting people to create, share and promote knowledge, which has received an awardwinning recognition both locally and internationally. Knowledge Oman holds free community seminars and hosts events in both English and Arabic
