(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) A new round of talks between Iran and the nuclear watchdog, IAEA, is due to take place tomorrow (Saturday) in Tehran, paving the way for the full implementation of Geneva II agreement
These talks are scheduled ten days ahead of the final agreement negotiations that will be held in Vienna between the 5+1 nations and Iran, at which time it is expected that the Iranian foreign minister Muhammad Zarif will continue his contacts with EU foreign policy representative Catherine Ashton
Iran and the group of 5+1 (i.e. the US, Russia, China, France, the UK, and Germany) had reached last November a watershed point whereby both sides agreed to start a phase of final negotiations ensuring the peaceful purposes of the Iranian nuclear program while reducing international sanctions on Iran
IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano described the November agreement as an important step toward an eventual comprehensive one that would allay the international community's fears regarding the Iranian nuclear intentions
He announced that he would apprise the IAEA board of trustees on March 3, via a report he was preparing, of Iranian compliance with the spirit of the November agreement
