Sensex advances for 4th day
(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Tata Steel Ltd rallied seven per cent, the most in more than four months. The S&P BSE India Metal Index had its steepest gain since October. Drugmaker Sun Pharmaceutical Industries climbed the most in two months. State Bank of India advanced for third day this week
The S&P BSE Sensex added 0.3 per cent 20,380.77, according to preliminary closing prices in Mumbai, paring its weekly decline to 0.7 per cent. The MSCI Asia Pacific Index advanced on Friday as US jobless claims dropped for the first time in three weeks. Fifteen of the 20 Sensex companies, or 75 per cent, that have posted earnings for the December quarter so far have beaten or matched analyst estimates, compared with 70 per cent in the September quarter and 47 per cent three months earlier
