(MENAFN - Arab Times) Four Asians running a liquor factory were apprehended with 95 bottles of local booze and materials for brewing liquor as security operatives raided their apartment in Abu Halifa area. Director of Ahmadi Security Directorate Major General Ayeth Al- Otaibi said the sector received a tip-off about the activities of the four suspects and placed them under surveillance for a time, until an undercover agent approached them to purchase an unspecified quantity of liquor

Then, security officers went ahead and raided their apartment after the transaction was concluded and confiscated 95 bottles of local-made liquor ready for sale, with other materials for producing alcohol

During interrogation, the suspects admitted the crime and said they manufactured liquor for commercial purpose. They have since been referred to the relevant authority for further investigation. In a related development, an Indian expatriate was nabbed with 39 bottles of local and exotic liquor in Sabah Al- Salem area. Security sources said patrol officers spotted two individuals holding bags and walking late at night. To their surprise, one of them started running when they approached them

The officers chased and caught the first suspect, while the second suspect managed to escape. They checked the bags and found the contraband. Later on, the officers uncovered the second suspect was friends with the first suspect and they were trading in narcotics. Investigation is ongoing to trail the second suspect who's still at large
