Vietnam cashew exports up 15.8 percent in 2013


(MENAFN) Vietnam"s cashew exports increased 15.8 percent last year to 257,000 tons, making it the leading exporter of the nut for eighth year running, Xinhua reported



The country brought in USD1.63 billion through selling cashew nut last year, going up 9.7 percent from the year before it



The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said that the country earned a revenue of USD2 billion from selling the nut and extra products from it such as cashew nut shell oil



The US, China and Netherlands were the major markets for Vietnamese cashew, with the US being its top importer accounting for over one third of total exports
