British economy to grow 2.5 percent in 2014


(MENAFN) The British economy is expected to expand by 2.5 percent this year and 2.1 percent in 2015, following an expansion of 1.9 percent in 2013



The National Institute of Economic and Social Research (NIESR) said that unemployment in the country will fall below seven percent early this year



The NIESR also said that inflation will be slightly above the target of two percent this year, and will fall below the target next year



The NIESR said: "We expect consumer spending to remain the key driver of recovery in 2014 and 2015, supported by continued buoyancy in the housing market.
