Saudia plans to buy 50 planes


(MENAFN) Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) is planning to buy 50 new planes this year as it aims to expand its global reach, Arabian Business reported



The carrier's vice president for maintenance said that talks with Boeing and Airbus are underway for the purchase of the new jets by the year-end



He said: "We have a requirement of about 50 planes and are in talks with manufacturers about this.



Saudia has also announced a planned initial public offering (IPO) of shares in its cargo unit this year and an IPO for its maintenance business in 2015
